The reasons for the diagonal saddle

We all love the Telecaster *. Especially the old ones.

Leo Fender, with the passage of time, was looking for improvements in their instruments. In the Stratocaster included three pills, body contouring to not stab in the ribs, etc ... And independat saddles for each string, the first thing Nocaster, Esquire, Broadcaster and Teles were not.

The following photos we can see the old bridge whose great advantage is that with a simple screwdriver you can adjust and remove.

anyone can date this beauty?

If we look closely we can see that when adjusting the intonation, the strings are matched and can not place them at different distances regardless ** (yes at different heights .) Thus we will never be able to induct well, between this and a Twin Reverb plug using the pill Bright and sharp while we play chords can kill more than one (a) ...

The solution is simple, reversible and should not replace the entire bridge.

The following photos we see a bronze saddles, very big, we will deliver very good harmonics. Besides having good looks, are inclined so that the hole left when placed diagonally.
Left, original saddle, right the new

In the middle we took the small screws allen and put them upside down so that the third is longer than the fourth.

This configuration allows us to induct very accurately, so our ears will stop suffering those chords that can literally hurt. And we will do justice to perhaps the best piece of wood with strings, the Fender Telecaster.

Needless to say, the greater size and material affect the sound, in my opinion this guitar has given him more things better than fifth, sustain, harmonics, tuning stability and body.

List for a fifth!

* The taking over and not like we are happy to pick it up.

** For example, the third and fourth, almost always to induct distances should be well mixed, as they are of different construction. We will report on strings later.
